This pack is quickly becoming my favorite, especially for early scouting in hot weather. _________________ www.sagecreekoutfitters.com

Well, the Ultra Day has now been on three afternoon, deep incursions into animal terrtitory. I live on the central east coast of Australia and it is best described by Robin Williams as "hot - damned hot" at this time of year. Any other pack would have had me sweating like a waterfall on my back. I still sweat using the Ultra Day, but nowhere near as much and it was real lite and comfortable to wear. It has me beat what I can put in all those hide away pockets. I have used most of 'em and now each component of my hunting kit is easy to get at. I have to restrain myself from buying more kit just to fill the unfilled pockets. The only suggestion I would make is that it would be great if it was provided with a clip-on gun scabbard holder to better support carrying a rifle.
One little trick I did find is that if you want something out from the large pockets in the back of the pack then you can just swing the pack around, put your arms through so it is worn in front and access what you want while still walking. The easy access pockets, low ride hieght and lite wieght make it quite easy to do. You don't have to stop, drop the pack on the side of the track and get a shovel to find your stuff in it.
And YES, I would recommend it! _________________ The greatest wealth of all is tobe content with little |

I am interested in this pack can someone post a picture of it on your back from the side view with it loaded so I can see the profile. I dont like a hump on my back and I like the design of the no sweat, but it looks like it will stick out a ways. Thanks for the review Danny.

I don't have a picture Randy, but it does hold pretty tight to your back. _________________ www.sagecreekoutfitters.com

| I just received my Ultraday pack and must say this is one well built pack. It is a very nice size, yet can carry weight well do to the frame giving the pack good support. 1700ci size holds alot of gear and with the extra webing and bottom straps you can really pack some extra gear on the outside of this pack if needed. |

|
|
Just got my pack back from BL and wanting to thank Paul for getting my fittings perfect on the straps also the seamstress-Outstanding.
So I did a dry run of packing my Superday with all my gear for the cabin and my Ultraday is packed with my field gear-GPS. Compass, first aid kit ect... I filled my 100 oz water bladder and boy I could not get into that pouch for nothing, I then pushed the back supports out and was able to slide it in but noticed with a full bladder the back brace stays extended meaning pushed out. So I had to empty about 25% of the bladder to make it fit correctly. I guess this is something BL may have to look into because during my winter hikes I consume a lot of H2O and need that 100 oz bladder filled to the top. I was going to try to fill it while in the pack but that would be useless do to the pressure on the bladder anyway.
I will report back around the 28th on how well the Superday and Ultraday performed.
Thanks again Paul and all the staff at BL
Merry Christmas to all and a Happy New Year.

|

Well I just came back from from long weekend in the woods and I must say the Ultraday is an outstanding pack. It rained for a bit as well as snow and none of my items in the back were wet, however I did find that the water bladder started to freeze up as well as the tube and mouth piece, I guess I should only used this in the spring and summer.
I was able to pack all my survival gear as well as extra gloves, shirt, socks and a bottle of seltzer without a problem. The pack was extremely comfortable and I had no problems adjusting the straps or belt. Without a doubt the Ultraday is a great pack and cannot wait to use it on my hunting trips come next year. Just to add as I had stated before I use my Superday to haul in my gear for the cabin such as sleeping bag, food ect and it also preformed without a hitch--To all the people at BL, Thanks for a great pack and look forward to doing business with you again.

I love my ultraday and use it as my day pack for both deer and elk hunting. It has been a great pack.
However, I was climbing down out of a tree with my climber this fall and had the pack hanging from its chest strap from the stand. Somehow something on the pack got caught on the lower platform when I went to lower that section down the tree as I moved down....pack was strapped to the upper section of the climber. When the distance exceed the play in the chest strap and instead of breaking it simply came out of the tracks or whatever you call it that it rides along to adjust in height across your chest.
I can't for the life of me get it back on that one side. I guess I'll ahve to send it in for them to fix it.
Anyone else had the chest strap pop off on one side of the slider? _________________ :^D |

| Thanks for taking the time to post the detailed pics of all these packs. It is helpful for those of us who do not have a sporting goods store close by. With the pictures we have a better idea of which pack to order. |

New to the forums, so hello everyone.
The BL owner's manual (available from BL website) says that the webbing that is used to lash the bow on the back of the pack is
| Quote: | | "...a Hypalon hands-free bow belt, which is strong enough to hang from (but dont)." |
My question is...would it be strong enough to lash a treestand to? Perhaps someone could take a pic of this? |

I don't think the pack is big enough or has a substantial enough frame to carry a treestand. It's an excellent day back though.

I have used the Ultraday for a few years now and I might try a small treestand but you probably would not want to put to much weight on it. On Badlands website there is a picture of a guy that carried an elk hindquarter.

@Magic Thanks for welcome and yes I normally keep some twilight hours. I'm a designer and programmer which warrants late hours.
A little background: Started archery at 11 but never went anywhere with it. Now I've started to break into hunting.
Basically what I'm looking for is something that is light for whitetail treestand hunting. I'm looking at getting a LW treestand with the climbing sticks and hoping to lash it to the back of the pack to make packing it in more comfortable. It must also carry the bow but not necessarily at the same time as the treestand. Perhaps I should be looking at the Superday or 2200?
My initial interest in the Ultraday is the fact that it wraps around the tree.... |

Look at the whitetail hybrid. I think it's geared more for what you want. _________________ www.sagecreekoutfitters.com

There are several on the Superday, which is what I have. My understanding is that the Whitetail is very similar. _________________ Before you die.......Take time to live! |

No, and I've been meaning to take some pics for the hybrid.
Magic is right, its made off the Superday platform, with a lot more pockets. _________________ www.sagecreekoutfitters.com
