| Update I sent my pack in and in seven days got it back good as new. Great customer support people to work with. I'm sure glad I bought a badlands pack. |

| Very easily!!! You can put one on practically any pack. I change mine up all the time. What ever pack I will be using I switch it right over. |

| For those wondering ow to attach gear (GPS, Knife) to the hip belt. Go to army surplus and get some alice clips, they work great. |

I am planning on packing camp and meat with my new 2200. Has anyone packed meat and also had something strapped to the bottom of the pack? I know that the meat shelf is between the bottom straps but I have an idea of how to get around that problem. I was wondering if anyone has done this and how you have done it. _________________ Whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. |

Well I am answering my own question. If anyone else is wondering this same thing it is easy to get around. I got my 2200 this weekend and put a big tent in the meat shelf and then just ran the bottom straps around the edge of the meat shelf to attach my sleeping pad. It works great. _________________ Whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. |

Maybe you already addressed it somewhere, but I saw in some pic(maybe the 2800) that there is a place to hold a pistol. Is that on the 2200 or all packs? I'm also very interested in a pic or two holding a compound bow. I'm looking at being able to haul in bag/mat/solo tent to a spike camp and being out 2-3-4 days DIY Elk and Deer, maybe Sheep down the road.
Looks like a great line of pack, thanks. |

| The 2200 is an ultimate day pack IMO. I have not found a better one yet. |

I sent my 2200 in a few weeks ago to get the belt shortened and some daisy chain added. From sending it off I got it back in 17 days, thats tough to beat! I will take some pics and make a new topic to show the improvements. _________________ Whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. |

Maybe I'm just not computer literate enough but I can't seem to figure out how to see the pictures this answer is referring. I would also like to see it carrying a gun. By the way, this seems to be a great forum. Thanks.

| sorry as soon as I sent that question I was able to bring up the pic's. I don't know how but i saw how it works, (somewhat). Not sure I like i, seems hard to retrieve. I know it's not meant for a "quickdraw" but seems buried in there? |

| I got my new 2200 pack and tried it out tonight. I have been packing around a 50 lbs bag on softener salt when the wife and I walk using my cabelas alaskan frame pack. I put the bag of salt in my new 2200 an it hung very low and the bulk rested near the middle of my butt. A very uncomfortable feeling. I was able to tighten the bottom cinches of the pack which lifted it considerably but still not as high as when I have my frame pack on. I guess that's just how this pack works. I have the bulk near the top of my butt now but it would be nice a little higher. Maybe it's just that I am used to the frame pack I will pack it around (haven't walked with the wife yet) a few times and see how I like it. Also the chest strap rests very high even with the top shoulder cinches puled all the way tight. I'm not a huge guy but not small either (6' 210 lbs). Any suggestions on how to lift the load any more and how to lower the chest cinch. Fit will probably change when I'm wearing more than a polo shirt? |

I just got back from 10 Days in Idaho hunting Elk. Used the 2200 and it worked well. I have a long torso. Fitting the cabelas alaskan Outfitter pack, I took the measurements they wanted and I was 5" longer than their max setting. The aluminum internal frame dug into my shoulders after a while on the 2200 and it was sowhat hard to keep high on me. I am 6'3" and 265. Big sholders. The Chest strap seemed hard to use too.
The biggest gripe I had that the tube from the hydration bladder would glare in the sun light if the sun came from behind, but most of all, whenever I took the pack off, the hose was too long and nothing was given to hold it up. I would get something out of the pack and later go to get a drink, and see the mouth piece sitting on a cow turd, elk turd or in the dust. This happened more times than you could ever imagine. I'd even take the pack off and bear this in mind, but once I moved the pack to get something...plop goes the tube landing the mouth piece on another turd.
My Zipper broke on one of the pouches the first time I zip it up during hunting.
Any insight on the use on thus big guys would be appreciated or how to cut down on my dung consuption.
The pack did the job, but I think I need some adjustments. _________________ Bobcat Jerry |

Can't help you with the pack, but I can with the hydration. There is an "option" that you don't have. It's a mouthpiece cover and cost about 5 bucks. You remove your mouthpiece, slip the cover on, and then reinstall your mouthpiece. The cover flips open to expose your clean mouthpiece.
I found mine in a bike shop, but any outdoor related store should have them.
Happy turd free drinking...... (I'll post a picture on here later) _________________ Before you die.......Take time to live! |

You know bobcatjerry that I call my partner at work a turd magnet for all the flee market items that he buys but man you are truly a turd magnet or at least your hydration tube is...
You will notice directly on the upper portion of the shoulder straps, the black bartacking material which has a few slits cut into it. Using a dull butter knife, I slipped a piece of Velcro through the slits forming a loop for the end of hose.
If you have a electronics store near you, they may have wire wraps that are designed to have both the hook and loop on one strap.
If I get the chance, I will snap a picture for you.

OK, I have the pictures of the mouthpiece cover. Notice that my favorite Camelback (the black one) has a cover on the tube. You can easily make your own by sewing a strip of cloth to form a cover which is then "turned inside out". Remove the mouthpiece and slip the cover over the tube.
Hope this helps. Happy "turd free drinking"..... _________________ Before you die.......Take time to live! |

Thanks guys, now my wife can kiss me when I come home. The badlands hydrantion pac mouth piece is somewhat different, but I'll think I can get it to work out. I had my GPS mounted on the same side as the hose and I can make something to hold it up or in place. Thanks
Has anybody had experience with adjusting the internal frame? _________________ Bobcat Jerry |

Here is one of the holsters I use on the 2200. Works good and can be removed easily when I take the pack off and keep the pistol with me. _________________ The final weapon is the brain . All else is supplemental |
