Went scouting yesterday and wanted to mark a location. Took forever (15 min) to get a lock on the satelites. Knew something was fishy as it said the altitude was 5400' when I live at 5400' and driving hiking to this location is all up. Hiking back through I booted it up again and this time the altitude was at 8,900'. What gives, anybody know?

I don't know. Mine does that from time to time as well. It seems worse if it's been a long time since I used it last.
Whenever I make a waypoint I always do a search for the nearest waypoint to make sure it saved it correctly. I saved one once and did a search for it and it said I was 19 miles from the waypoint I had just made.
I have a had a couple problems but overall it they seem to work well enough. I attribute the problems to Russian spy satellites. _________________ Lifetime Idaho resident. 30yrs.
Yeah Ruesski's
It has been half a year since I used it last. Perhaps
Same questions came up.... Are you in doors? Are you hundreds of miles away from home? Later I will put the coordinates on a topo and see if they are off as well.

You should also get any current updates from Garmin as there are usually 2 or 3 a year that fix any problems that have come up.
I would guess it took a while because it will start searching for satellites in the last known location. So if you have moved a great distance it will take much longer. _________________ Take care, Doug...
