I get to start loading the 22-250rem now.

As my wife's surgery is getting closer I told her to go do some shopping today, I was thinking clothes or shoes or new dish set or possible a couch that she has been talking about wanting. Instead she came home with a Remington model 7 stainless 22-250rem 20" bare barrel wood stock and a Remington BDL Deluxe 700 also in 22-250rem 24" open sights barrel wood stock. She also came home with a set of RCBS dies and 300ct Remington brand brass and IMR 4064 powder and Hornady 52gr BTHP ( not to be used for deer hunting apparently but for punching paper according to the guy at the gun store ) She also got us another Hornady tumbler so I can clean the brass faster. Her older sister who went with her said it was the most boring shopping trip ever.

We will be putting a mate black Leopold VX11 fine duplex reticle on it for now so she can shot it starting this Saturday the 15th up to the 25th the night before surgery. She will be putting a Leopold VX3 silver finish on it.

I am loading them with 31.3gr of the IMR 4064 for a book list of 3200fps. It is the starting load but wanted to be on safe side since she is use to the 223rem Winchester 64gr PP going out at 2970fps via 25gr of WIN 748. There will be time later to move the charge up once she can shot again to find what powder charge her rifle likes best. But we will also be going to a heavier bullet for deer hunting. The Sierra 55gr SBT, 60gr HP, and 63gr SMP and see if her rifle likes either of those.

Yes the Remington model 700 is mine. The Remington model 7 is hers. She could shoulder the 700 but the 7 is a lot more comfortable for her.

We did not make it to the range today. She got called into work and about 2 hrs ago it started to rain freezing rain. Wife wont be home while it is day light today I am thinking. But I was able to get some of the bullets loaded. Did not have full time since the schools closed early today due to the storm coming in.

Once I manage to get a Nosler re loading book I will be able to load up some of the 2 boxes of #39526 55gr Spitzer varmint ballistic tip in the 22-250rem cases so we can see how both rifles handle them as well.

We got the scope on her Model 7 yesterday and plan to go to range this coming Tuesday. Not as early as we wanted to. But it gave me time to load up another 100rounds for her. Once we get the barrel broke in we can shot a true 3 shot group and see how the rifle likes the Hornady 52gr BTHP bullet being pushed by 31.3 gr IMR 4064

My nice shooting bag Embarassed found another Remington model 7 this one with open sights and in 7mm-08rem and put it in lay a way. She is still searching for a model 7 in 223rem open sights for our youngest. She says rifle shopping is fun.
Luckily the 7mm-08rem was new in box that she found at a little gun shop she delivered mail to the other day. She was asked to work at a whole different post office that day other wise we would of never visited that store. They had received the model 7 she put on lay away on October of 2002 and just never got it sold.
