If you don't have a tag for another species, what rifle are you going to pack for Wolves and Why? _________________ Sometimes when you think the deck is totally stacked against you and that elk hunting is the stupidest activity on earth, remember that there are thousands of people out there who would love to be miserable like you right now... |

WY has now accepted 22 cal with 60gr or heavier bullets for wolves, pronghorn, and deer. 223 and up should be great. _________________ Pat C.

I use my elk rifle on wolves.
That way I only have to carry one gun.
300 win mag with 180 gr Nosler Accubonds.
I never had to chase a hit wolf yet and I don't care if its gut shot. |

I would use my Sako 30-06 with 180 grain pills, the same I use on big bucks and elk.
I have tracked gut shot coyotes over a quarter mile after being shot with an '06 and a wolf can be four times the size of a yote. So I would not take a pea shooter after a wolf. |

I carry a 45 1911 while bird hunting, wolves get after one of my dogs, he is going to meet Mr. Browning, and I don't have a tag.......... _________________ Political Correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end." |

Our situation is not wolves, but wild dogs, and I mean wild. They usually show no fear of humans and will advance. Whatever I have with me will put a hole in it somewhere, and I am not particular about where. _________________ http://knotholesawmill.com |
