The Straw House

Pat and I built the Straw House in 2000. Prior to building it, we had a two man ladder stand in the Straw Field, so the location had proven itself.

The floor is 16' from the ground and the siding is Cedar. The log flitchings hide the fiberglass ladder and prevent being seen when entering or leaving.

The Straw house has accounted for 19 bucks. 8 by me, 7 by Pat, and 4 by Grandchildren.

Our two other shooting houses are the Back House, because it is located on the back side of the Tree Farm, and the Wheel House, because it is built on an old wheeled fertilizer distributor frame and can be moved around.

I took a picture of the front of the Straw House this past week.

I also looked at the stats on the 19 bucks taken from it since year 2000. Four 10 point, five 9 point, seven 8 point, two 7 point, and the one 6 point that Pat took this year.

I do not have any records prior to 2000 when there was a ladder stand in that location, but I recall several 8's, 9's, and 10's.

Those are pretty nice. If I ever convince my wife to let me buy property I hope to do something similar.

I built a tower blind for my Brother. I know he has killed at least one deer out of it. They have all the equipment to plant food plots but he hasn't done it. They planted oats in one of there fields one year and had several deer including some good bucks coming in but for whatever reason he hasn't gone to the trouble to plant something in front of his blind.

I tried to upload a picture of it but I am getting an error message so it will have to wait.

That's a nice setup Magic. Almost just like mine.
I also have a PVC urinal but I have a funnel stuck in it.
Everyone laughs about my plumbing.

I like that idea with the brass and info for each.
I'm going to copy that if you don't mind.
