I searched enough, been shopping for some time for a Muzzle-loader and I am concerned on the barrel twist. Should I be? Will not be using Sabots being it's Colorado , I read the normal 1:28" twist is not as beneficial then as a slower twist using conicals..?
Ultimately whatever I buy I will have to try different combos to get the correct set up but if anyone has any specific advice on powder, bullets, grains, etc please let me know.
I am looking at spending around 500 for a new inline. just too many choices;)

To make a long expensive story short.. the T/C with the QLA barrlels do not shoot conicals very well. So. If you have a choice choose another gun. [/b]

Kinda slow getting to this post, Kraton.
If you are wanting accuracy in a heavy bullet, you might want to consider the Hornady Maxi-ball 385gr.
I hunt with the Powerbelt in my .54 cal with good results on a big cow.
I have been wanting to try the Barnes "Spitfire" solid copper, I think the 285gr. is the heaviest for the .50 cal. _________________ Just movin on down that trail.
