I'm just dropping a hint to anyone that's ever thought about going to Alaska to fish. (who of us hasn't?) My daughter has been a guide up there for the past 7 years during June and July. The outfit she is working for is awesome and the experience, from what everyone has told me has incredible.

Great fishing. Great people. LOTS of laughs and a great time float fishing in rafts on the Gulkana River out of Glennallen, Alaska.

I'm finally going to get to go this summer and really look forward to not only spending the time with my daughter and kicking her behind in fishing Very Happy (a competitive family YA THINK?) but also this will be my first time to Alaska and that is a place I've always wanted to go see.

So...check out this website and if you're interested, give them a call/email.

That sounds like a lot of fun! I would love to make a trip like that. So are you a fly-fisher, or are you toting spinning rods?

I love to fly fish but haven't done it enough to be very good at it. You can fish however you'd like up there. They float from hole to hole and have even been known to boonedoogle! (That's my dog's name...well...it's Boone, but I call him Boonedoggle. wow I get off topic here!) Laughing

Looks like fun, and I don't call myself a fisherman.

Perhaps it is the attractive female guides.... Laughing Can I send up my Brother -in-law?

HG: Be forwarned. If you ever go to Alaska.....you never come all of the way back home.

Magic - I've already sort of experienced that "not coming all the way home" feeling before since our trip to northern BC. Not a day goes by when I don't think of that place. sigh....................

Well...in most cases, Magic. I'm pretty sure I brought ALL of me home the last time I went to Los Angeles. Yuk!!! Nasty place!!! But It's the pristine, wild places where I am at my best and where I am most at home and where I do indeed leave part of me behind.

True HG, but then again, I don't "all the way" go to those places, so I can't leave anything there.

Just a play on words, and we both fully understand what we are saying.
Fun is fun......and not is not......
